WEB DESIGN

by Kyle Smith

I mentioned CSS in a previous post and I’m going to come back to it. It’s just crazy to me that once I have one CSS file I can just manipulate it to make other web designs. For this class all the site re-designs that I’ve done have originated from the same CSS file, and I’ve just changed the variables. Here are the sites that I’ve done for class, I’ve linked them from my photography site:

LIGHTING

by Kyle Smith

For my independent study, I had to do different lighting situations. I never realized how often I would need to be aware of the lighting situations. Being a photojournalist, the main concern hsa been to get the photo for the story. Most of the time its really hard to get technical with the photo b/c it’s live action. You can just set up the shot and then scream action like a movie set, you’ve gotta capture the event then and now. Photographing weddings makes you constantly think about lighting. At the receptions it’s usually really dark and you’re constantly adjusting the flash to fit the f-stop and shutter speed. One good thing I’ve discovered is Adobe Lightroom. With this you can adjust lighting situations in post-production to fit your needs, LIFE SAVER!

PHOTOGRAPHY

by Kyle Smith

The admissions office at SFA recently hired me to photograph the spring fest. I guess I never realized that freelance photography would be a good side job. So even if I don’t get a photography related job, I can still do side jobs.
